Several Moments #Poem

Several Moments

January 5, 2016

The time there was no great plan

Or you counted each breath

Moments sense is long gone

When you exit stage left

Getting kicked when you’re down

Without word or your name

Dancing tangos of lust

Filling vessels of shame

When you go in eyes closed

Your best charms fail to work

The scum won’t leave your sight

You see wink flirt with smirk

When you lose every flip

Magic rabbits go missing

Hearts slipping off sleeves

The first time you saw kissing

When the seeds will not settle

Past pain gains new presence

Love licks the great wounds

Lows dissolve into essence

The wallpaper gets changed

Politics start to peel

Sweat raises no warning

When it no longer heals

Having all the right answers

Instances to take back

Taking turns in straight lines

Curled up safe in the black

You will sum it all up

When it’s heavy or cold

All gaps will grow larger

Suddenly you are old.
