Stuck in Traffic

May 11, 2015

We’re kids in our heads,

in the jam that life is.

Or home in our beds,

tucked in with night’s kiss.

And alone with yourself,

is that pit stop of life.

A moment to pause on,

success and the strife.

Thousands of thoughts,

most day’s are the same.

Here and now is brand new,

don’t ride a past train.

There are so many ways,

to cruise your own path.

But there is no big secret,

Every day you should laugh.

And drive to the tip,

of your very potential.

Stay kind when the trip,

finds you presidential.

Be true to yourself,

Steer not to misleading.

As the lies told to self,

win wars of defeating.

There are steps leading down,

And then there’s the cliff.

Choose to make yourself proud,

while we all play what if.

And don’t look ahead,

to see who is leading.

It’s not a race- it is yours,

lives are not for repeating.

If it’s all just a race,

then it won’t be my curse.

To speed without looking,

so that I finish first.

Don’t take what is left,

try to do what is right.

For when you turn wrong,

dreams crash in that night.

So relax in your seat,

there’s enough time to be.

In the end it’s not over,

trust it’s just hard to see.
